China National Health Commission said – Our laboratories destroyed samples of early coronavirus patients

Strict standards for storage, study and destruction of samples associated with such infectious diseases have been set in China.

  • China National Health Commission medical officer Liu Denfeng gave this information
  • They argued that it was necessary to do so due to biosafety reasons

In December 2019, several Chinese labs destroyed samples of early corona patients. This information has been given by Liu Denfeng, Medical Officer of the National Health Commission of China. They argued that it was necessary to do so for biosafety reasons.

He said that according to the law of the country, many labs are not ready to handle samples of infectious diseases. Strict standards for storage, study and destruction of samples associated with such infectious diseases have been set. Therefore they are either handed over to professional institutions or destroyed.

Labs initially considered it as second-class pneumonia.

In the beginning, it was decided to arrange treatment by treating these cases as second class pneumonia. In February itself, the government ordered the sample-consuming labs not to hand over the sample to any research institute or advanced labs without permission.

These unauthorized labs would take samples and destroy them at their level or send them to municipalities for storage.

Experts believe that this is why the infection spread

Experts believe that this is why the infection spread wildly. But China’s medical officers do not believe this. However, in this confession, Denfeng did not share information about these unauthorized labs and how they took samples.
