PM Modi’s personal secretary Rajiv Topno gets an important post in World Bank
Rajiv Topno is a 1996 batch Gujarat cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. His term will be three years.
Prime Minister’s personal secretary Rajiv Topno has been appointed as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of the World Bank in Washington. This information has been given in the order issued on Thursday by the Ministry of Personnel.
Apart from him, Brijendra Navneet has been appointed Ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland, and a permanent representative of India. Navneet has lived in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Navneet is a 1999 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre. He has been Joint Secretary in PMO from July 2014 to September 2019. These appointments are important from the point of view that India’s economic crisis due to the coronavirus epidemic struggling with these organizations play an important role in various business-related activities.
Five officers have been appointed to various economic and trade-related positions abroad.
Senior IAS officer Ravi Kota has been appointed Economic Minister at the Indian Embassy in Washington. He is a 1993 batch IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre. Central Secretariat Service (CSS) officer Likha Thakkar has been appointed Counselor (Economic) at the Indian Embassy in Beijing, China.
H Atheli, a 200-batch officer of the Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS), has been appointed as an advisor (director level) to the Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank in Manila, Philippines.
Anwar Hussain Sheikh has been appointed as a counselor in the permanent mission of India to the WTO. He is a 2000 batch Indian Railway Traffic Service officer.
Similarly, N Ashok Kumar has been appointed as a consultant (industry and engineering) at the Indian Embassy in Brussels, Belgium. He is a 2004 batch IAS officer of Manipur cadre. The order said that the tenure of all these officers will be three years.
