Terrorist Tahir Bhat was killed in a 5-hour encounter with security forces in Kashmir / Doda, he used to conduct terrorist activities of Hizbul in the area.

Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Tahir Ahmad Bhat was killed in an encounter with security forces in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. After the death of Riyaz Naiku 11 days ago, this encounter is considered as a major action by the security forces.

Jammu zone IG Mukesh Singh said that on the night of May 16, we received information about Tahir in Khotra village of Doda. Since the killing of Hizbul terrorist Aaron in January 2020, Tahir had been conducting terrorist activities here. Last night, police, CRPF, Army and SSB joint security forces surrounded the village. Terrorists hiding inside a house started firing around 7 am Sunday. Tahir was killed in a 5-hour encounter.

Security forces, which were activated last year , have recovered one AK-47 and two magazines. The IG also reported that Tahir had been active since last year. In March 2019, he was named among the accused in an IED blast at a CRPF camp in Banihal. However, the explosion was not as fast and no young casualties occurred. Tahir’s name was also mentioned in the murder of Kishtwar union activist Chandrakant Sharma and his PSO.

Terrorist hideout was detected on 16 May

On May 16, a militant hideout was detected by security forces at Arijal Khansab in Budgam, Kashmir. Lashkar-e-Taiba assistant Zahoor Wani and 4 of his associates were also arrested. Police had said that the hideout was tunneling. Ammunition along with weapons were also recovered from here. This tunnel is about 500 meters from Zahoor Wani’s house. It is being said that Vani had been helping the terrorists for a long time.

Riyaz of Hizbul was killed on 6 May

On May 6, security forces in Kashmir killed Riyaz Nayaku, the top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen. He was included in the Most Wanted list for two years. He came to Begpora village in Pulwama to meet his ailing mother. Police received input from the presence of Naiku and some of his associates in this village. Security forces buried Naiku’s body in front of five family members in the cemetery at Sonmarg, where the bodies of the terrorists are buried these days.
