The Amazon web series Patal Lok has been released just a few days but it is being discussed all around. The story and characters of the film are very much liked by the audience. But now this web series seems to be stuck in controversies. Loire Guild member Viren Singh Gurung has sent a legal notice to the producer of the series, Anushka Sharma.
In this notice sent on 18 May, Viren Singh Gurung has alleged that the use of the word ‘caste’ in the web series has insulted the entire Nepali community. Viren has said that during interrogation at 3 minutes and 41 seconds in episode two of season one, the female police in the show uses racist abuses on the Nepali character.

According to Viren, he has no problem with the use of the word Nepali, but he has reservations about the word that has been said. Nepali is one of the 22 scheduled languages and there are 1.5 crore people in India who speak Nepali in the common language. The Gorkha community is the largest Nepali-speaking community and is a direct insult to the community.
Viren has also started an online petition. In it, he said that in the name of creative freedom one can accept racist attacks. Therefore, we will request the intervention of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in this matter. Along with this, Viren has also asked Amazon and producer Anushka Sharma to apologize.
Explain that artists like Jaideep Ahlawat, Neeraj Kabi, Abhishek Banerjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Niharika, Jagjit, Gul Panag have worked in Patal Lok. This web series has been written by Sudeep Sharma.
