Police caught around 1.5 kilograms of heroin covered in packets marked with Pakistan signings along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Friday, officials said.
On a reliable input, a police team started a search action in the regions of Dabbi, Dhaarati, and Basooni in the Balakote sector after the unusual movement of some people regarding drug peddling was noticed across the LoC near the Dabbi forest area, they said.
Another team also started a search operation in the Dabbi forest area and it discovered a polythene bag lying in the plants and covered by stones near Dabbi village, the officials added.
During the occasion of the presumed material, approximately 1,500 grams of heroin was found protected in three packets and covered in a polythene bag which had a location of a shop in Lahore, Pakistan, they said.
A case was recorded at police station Mender in this regard, the officials said.
